Brown Bird Stream “Nine Eyes” Via Alarm

Mar. 26, 2013, Providence, R.I. – Brown Bird, the Rhode Island indie-folk duo who release their new album Fits of Reason on Apr. 2 (Supply & Demand Music), are currently streaming “Nine Eyes” via Alarm (http://alarm-magazine.com/2013/mp3-premiere-folk-duo-brown-bird-heads-east-with-nine-eyes/).  The pair has also added an additional leg of tour dates to their already extensive North American run, which includes performances at both the Stagecoach and Sasquatch Festivals.
The new dates kick off May 3 in Chapel Hill and primarily cover the Southeastern and Western United States with a May 16 taping for eTown in Boulder.  Brown Bird previously announced dates throughout the rest of the country, which are listed below.
The Boston Phoenix, in their final issue, said of the band and new album: “Brown Bird, a boundary-pushing Americana duo from Rhode Island, make music that touches upon that can’t-put-my-finger-on-it amalgamation of past and future sounds.  Their reductive semi-electric folk – slightly overdriven guitar, violin, upright bass, foot percussion, wicket tight harmonies – is deceptively simple in its toe-tapping-ness, though in fact it is frequently reminiscent of ‘30s-era Ellington flirting with Cuban and Middle Eastern tropes in a proverbially dusty middle-America barn.”
Brown Bird is currently streaming “Seven Hells,” the lead track from Fits of Reason via SoundCloud, which can be heard here: https://soundcloud.com/supplyanddemand/brown-bird-seven-hells.
